I can hear them, crying “let us be, please !” I can see in their eyes, a big question, most an existential one, “why the f… am I here ?” and I can feel their masters, thinking “I dream to the day we’ll be allowed to make them compete in bikinis” Anyone dares to say they’re somehow happy ?

I dont think the dogs are too happy about all this, I think its horrible that anyone would put their dog through this. Its the same as putting a child in a beauty pagent except now the dog owners can get more for their puppies. I think they should all be ashamed of themselves a TRUE dog lover doesnt would never put their dogs through this. I dont need a judge to tell me how beautiful my dogs are I already know.

The grooming of these dogs is really extreme! I can’t imagine they would be too happy with wearing the costumes and having their hair done… Also its quite wanky that there has to be a ‘perfect’ look with a dog, they are all beautiful and I really don’t think much of these pretentious “beauty” dog shows… but… saying that, I also don’t agree that all dogs are necessarily unhappy with being part of dog shows in general.
Think about it, they have to have a certain level of obedience training to even make it into these things, and dogs love to learn and to please the ‘leader of the pack’! I know with all obedience dog shows I’ve seen, the dog has always been excited and happy to perform. On top of that, they get to see a lot of other dogs, sniff their butts offstage and run around stage with their owner.
In fact I’ve seen clips of this dog show before and a lot of them were wagging their tails with their tongues out.
So… apart from being quite pretentious.. it’s not all THAT bad!

i have a chow chow and i’ve been to three dog shows with him…although they weren’t that spectacular as the images presented here, which by the way left me speechless, i am absolutely sure that the dogs are very happy to be there…i mean is a pleasure for both dog and owner to prove what a great team they are, and also how the love and care of the human is reflected on hisd partener…and finally, winning isn’t really important here…however the friendship and strong bond between the two are…ralu and happy wishing you a happy new year:):*
