It’s really great what you can do with a little sand, a little water and a lot of imagination and hard work.

[...] Amazing Sand Art Some people have way too much time and talent on their hands. The best I can do is fill a bucket and turn it over. [...]

INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do they do that? Some people just have so much talent!
I wonder if they could do that with ice-cream?
Now that would be a sweet treat; guess it would
be to nice to eat though.

Please identify the places where these were done. I recognise the skyscrapers of Melbourne, Australia, and I see a sign saying China, but otherwise it’s a complete mystery.

15 05 2007
Zuza (12:11:33) :

Wade, I don’t know the location. All I know is that it’s an international contest and this could explain the words in Chinese.

Matt (06:07:30) :

This is in Harrison hot springs (in BC, Canada).

You can see some of the signs saying “Harrisand”

16 05 2007
Matt (06:08:27) :

Actually, I sit corrected. Some are from there, and others are from some other place (there arn’t any large skyscrapers in Harrison)

These are great. I’d love to have the sand and the patience to do something like this, but I live too far away from the coast :-(

These sculptures were done at Harrison Hot Springs. I don’t know if it is still an annual event. Harrison Lake is in about two hours east of Vancouver Canada.
White Rock, also not far from Vancouver used to have an equally spectacular Sand Castle competition.

They use a weak cement mix with the sand so it will be able to stay up for a month and a bit it is still an annual event and costs 20 bucks but it comes complete with cute canadian girls

The best sand art I saw was in Rio. The girls all had big butts and thongs. Santa Clause was surrounded by big bootie brazilians. They had coin drop things next to them, I wonder if they got their tips?
