Cool, but what purpose would that bottom ‘design’ be? I mean the purpose of drapes is to either block sunlight or not. This kinda defeats the purpose of environmentalism, too, but it does save the hassle of getting your drawstring tangled or if the traditional mechanism gets broken, which is possible since it’s actually a bit intricate.
These would be nice if you could just put your hands under each end, heft it up, and have it stay. *THEN* it might save a few milliseconds off someone’s day.

Phil, that is what happens. Its kinda the point of it.
But at the start, the page says “Any form”.
I cant wait to verify that claim.

An added bonus is that it keeps out the government’s mind-control beams.

These are great.
Just because they don’t have a purpose doesn’t change that. Not everything invented has to change the world for the more efficient. These just change your perspective on what you can do with some drapes.

So you don’t like the design of this prototype… Well I’m sure you will appreciate that this is obviously a design to demonstrate the concept and that various designs can be created that will cater to many tastes. Various materials and colours could be used to create the same product.
My question would be, are the magnets strong enough to work under the fabric of the blinds (i.e. completely covered)?
This idea is a great innovation.

I would really like a pair of these!! I’m looking for curtains, and I love the way these look. Are they for sale?
Jean, this is just a project at this stage, but you could contact the designer and ask about when and if it will be available for purchase. The link to the designer’s site is at the top of the post.

Neat idea, though I think it looks a little messy. It isn’t particularly appealing to me, but I can see how it could be for someone else. It would just annoy the crap out of me. All I can think of is a crumpled up paper sack.

I love It!!! People seem to be conditioned to think things should look and act the way they want… if you don’t like it why would you spend your time griping about it… It’s art. Just imagine if the people who think things such as.. “purpose of drapes is to either block sunlight or not”…. We would never have things such as this!!
I think that this is a great idea, its perfect for anyone and what’s not to like about a creative way to partition a room, cover a window or cover a door// if not that, something that brings a little fun into an everyday chore! Congrats on the design can’t wait to get some!
where can I get it ?
nice ….. I want some, they look very cool
Cool..but how do you clean it?
