yes he does use bics but only blue and he used a hell of a lot of them on every picture (cnt remember roughly how many)

If the artist is drawing these freehand, then their realism is astounding. However, I think it looks like he’s simply tracing over photographs and then filling in the detail.

Other artists that draw in this style do just that – trace and fill. It’s not really all that original.

@Jimmy – I’ve seen an article on this very art. He uses photographs from parties as inspiration, and if you’ll notice the top photo on this page, his art is [...] a lot bigger than your typical 4×6 photo.

Even though he is drawing an image copied from a pre-existing photo, and even though you say it’s not original, that’s still some damn fine work with a BIC pen. Not a lot of people have the skill required to capture such detail.
