James May’s Lego House
7 09 2009Top Gear presenter, James May, built a new house in Surrey made entirely out of Lego bricks. This two-story Lego palace, which resides in the middle of a vineyard, has a working bathroom, and is covered inside and out with over 816 million Lego bricks.
Maybe the next step for him would be to buy the Lego Volvo car.

haha DUDE!!!!! thats awesome! but plastic. . . . idk not very eco friendly…. and molds . . . but sweet idea. way to use your thinker!
Aw! I want to go visit it!
The house looks stunning! Coming along nicely. And the Lego Volvo Car sounds like a tough one, can’t wait.
What does the inside look like?
And how many lego’s did you use?
and what was the cost?
Well, this looks wild and everything, but what an enormous waste of money!
Just because it is plastic does not mean it isn’t eco-friendly.
I don’t think he plans on throwing out his house for a long time, so It does no damage.
What about insulation?
Could have filled those empty cubes with something no?
Honestly, that’s the ugliest house I’ve ever seen. Given to me for free, I’d donate it.
It could only be James May!!!!! I guess he has some sort of scientific explanation for this, what a nutter !
Top Gear rules the world………
“Just because it is plastic does not mean it isn’t eco-friendly.
I don’t think he plans on throwing out his house for a long time, so It does no damage.”
… and making that plastic of course does no damage whatsoever!
Except for the enormous drillplatforms poluting seas, enormous oiltankers dieseling around our seas, occasionally breaking and spilling, oh! and oil refineries only let off a slight puff of steam don’t they?
Sorry, I’m not an ecomentalist at all, but try and use your brains before speaking/typing.
Home repair made easy…

If you did your research, you’d find out that the house was built entirely from Lego bricks that had been donated after an appeal by James May. So in fact he probably saved tonnes of bricks from being sent to landfill.
I believe it has now been demolished…

Wow! That’s crazy!!
Spoils lovely countryside in my view – what are planners for?
cool idea, but i hate the color. rainbow stripes — very gay
This was built in another country, i forget where, but I remember reading the article about it having to be knocked down because LEGO didn’t approve of the construction and was going to sue him.

heres a link of whats inside, it had working plumbing and everything, what a shame to destroy :[
what a nice idea.
but i doubt anyone would want/can live in there.
that is the coolest lego creation ive ever seen!
Now all he needs is a lego car to drive on the track.
Tony, the car exists: Volvo Lego Car
Didn’t he sleep in it once, and the night he slept in it, it rained and he got all wet right?
And this explains the ongoing worldwide lego shortage…way to go mister…kids everywhere are crying because you hogged all the fun toys.
