These are called “Ganguro”. It’s a type of fashion statement/lifestyle in Japan. It’s really interesting how many different styles of Harajuku girls there. (Look up Harajuko and Ganguro on the internet to learn more.)

I love how excentric they are in Japan.
Personally, I’m not really fond of Ganguro, but I still respect people who make up this way. They know a lot of people will call it ugly and call them ridiculous but they still just put on make up like this and walk through streets with tons of “normal” people.
Respect for Harajuku Fashions, ALL OF THEM!
I don’t care what anyone says, it’s pretty to me. At least they attempt to be different, unlike the mass clones of Ambercrombie and Hollister people.
Lyndsey, you are deluded if you think these people don’t exist in swarms and droves of mass clones just like “Ambercrombie and Hollister people”.
It’s a fashionable look in japan called Ganguro, But it might also be another look in japan similar to ganguro but less makeup. I did a project on this last year in grade nine.
I Love their style, but to be honest i do think that some girls over do it..
I have died my hair lighter and wear contacts but i wouldn’t tang myself the colour of a fruit… love the clothes though..
