The monastery is build in the wall of Jinlong Cannion, near the Heng Mountaing in Shanxi Country. Built more than 1,500 years ago, this temple is unique not only for its location, but also because it includes Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian elements.
Hwacheon County is home to an ice fishing festival in which thousands of competitors try to catch as many wild trouts as possible. This takes place during the entire month of January. The festival organizers claim there are roughly 1,000,000 visitors annually.
The “Zibelemärit” (onion market) is a traditional folk festival that takes place on the fourth Sunday in November, in the old city of Bern. Neighboring farmers gather to sell over 100 tons of plaited strings of onions, as well as other fruits, vegetables and nuts.
