1. The mosquito is responsible for the deaths of more than two million people each year. There are more than 3500 different species of mosquitoes, but it is believed the insect carries and transmits diseases to 700 million people annually in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

2. The Asian cobra will leave you paralysed with fear…literally. The snake’s venom contains a powerful post-synaptic neurotoxic and when bitten, it acts on the nerves and paralyses muscles. The mortality of the cobra bite is about 3 at 100,000 population.

The Christmas Island red crab, is a species of land crab that is endemic to Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the Indian Ocean. Although restricted to a relatively small area, it has been estimated that 43.7 million adult red crabs lived on Christmas Island alone, but the accidental introduction of the yellow crazy ant is believed to have killed about 10–15 million of these in recent years. Christmas Island red crabs eat mostly fallen leaves and flowers, but will occasionally eat other small animals.

The finger monkey is the tiniest living primate in the world. It’s so small that it can hold on to your finger.
Finger monkeys are, as a matter of fact, pygmy marmosets. They are also known by the names “pocket monkey”and “tiny lion”.
They are native to rain-forests of Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia.
