Hey MIKE FARREL, are you currently homeless? It says in your comment that you would rather be happy and homeless than rich and miserable anyday. Your contradicting everything you wrote by adding that at the end if in fact you are still not homeless. So therefor they are lazy people like yourself because you cant even become homeless again your so lazy.

I was homeless for five years back in the eighties. It was hard getting money sometimes, but I didn't need a whole lot to get by. after I got a job and was able to afford a place, I was working all the time and coming home to sleep and then doing it all over again and again and again... I realized after I had gotten back into society, how much freedom I gave up and was much happier being homeless. Just because someone is not like you don't think they are what they choose to be. I would rather be happy and homeless than rich and miserable anyday. Judge Not!

I would've given the wizard some money. At least he's honest. Hell, I probably would have taken him to a pub & hung out for a little while. Some homeless are really interesting people who are just a little down on thier luck and probably have a few stories to tell.

While there are many homeless persons that have fallen on hard times and really do have a desire to get back on their own two feet, a large number have mental disabilities that makes it very difficult to maintain a stable job. I've done many hours volunteering in soup kitchens and so many of the people that I've served really want to work - it's just the matter of finding a job, especially in this miserable recession.

Just don't judge so quickly. You can never know what another's situation is.

Once, while in Vancouver, my friends and I had a homeless guy ask "Money for marijuana research?"

We all got a good chuckle....

but kept walking

C'mon now... Homeless people CHOOSE to be homeless?.. I'll admit that in some cases this may be true, but once there and they realise how crappy a position they're in, and how hard it is to make even a few bucks sitting in the street it becomes harder and harder to get a job. If you were the boss at a McD's and you saw a dirty smelly bum in the street with a funny sign, you're telling me you'd hire him?... I doubt anyone's sincere 'yes' answer on this one, because they're as disgusted by the idea as most of the posters on this one. I for one pass a buck to the honest ones who admit it's for liquor, and hope they can come away from the streets with as much pride as the ones in the pics are demonstrating right here.
