It’s sad to see these former Microsoft software engineers laid so low.

Actually, for the ones that are real, it’s rather sad. I see nothing funny in the reality of the homeless. Each one of us are only a foot step away from it. Rather then poke fun why not do something to help the needy.

Dazman (00:09:32) :
Oh God Rod…talk about being depressing…
And also, technically…I’m not a foot step away from being homeless…I took loads of footsteps today going to and from my job…and still managed to take that foot step back into my lovely warm house.

Robbie (15:16:23) :
I used to go to college with one of them.

KK (19:59:40) :
My brother chose to be homeless and I’m ok with the fact that he panhandles. I think a lot of those guys are very funny and creative, just in a bad spot.
This is really sad but I admit I chuckled. Some homeless guy yesterday flat out asked my friends for money so he could buy malt liquor. I was pissed because my friends gave him some.
26042008
Robbie Too (20:27:48) :
Heck, if you can’t beat them, join them.
26042008
Jay (20:35:42) :
OMFG rod, no one is making fun at anyone… notice the people in the pictures are smiling and making funny signs FOR AMUSEMENT? and maybe a buck or two

Is the “blind” man Ray Bong from NOLA?
26042008
Skylar (23:14:31) :
Did you want the homeless person to lie to your friends and say he was gonna buy food with the money? Would that have made you feel you better?

Daughter of the non Light (00:12:22) :
Well, wouldn’t you want to get loaded too if you were homeless? I know I’d drink to forget about the fact that I didn’t have anywhere to sleep.

jenny (04:23:24) :

Alaskan Princess (07:07:03) :
You know? All of this talk about the poor homeless people, and if any of you have been to Alaska you would see all of them that are EVERYWHERE. We have shelters upon shelters and TONS of programs for anyone that would have even a spark of any kind of WANT to work. All they would need to do is seek it. I don’t think that it is anyones responsibility to “take care” of the homeless just because they lack the initiative to be participating citizens in this country.
For example - the picture of “homeless bill needs rich woman” : I drive past that man EVERYDAY. He holds the same sign in a different part of town and how is anyone supposed to get a job if all they do is beg all day? I have personally seen groups of homeless people sitting around swapping turns at the same corner passing around a bottle… and what do you think they do with the rest of the day? They go to their warm free shelter, eat some free food sleep in a safe place for free… then do the same thing the next day.
I wish that I could live a lifestyle that I didn’t have to work for what I have… I think that Americans have it so easy sometimes people truly forget that our country is molded around all of the people that used to farm daily for their own money to support their families. People used to work hard for little pay… but enough to get by. I wish that someone could humble Americans to the actual lives that we are all privileged to live.
So there you go… I am going to pack up my little soapbox and stumble upon something else that I can rant on.
i think it’s funny as heck do to the fact that there to lazy to get a job and better them selves. McDonalds is always hiring. better life starts with a job

Pwnzord (00:27:40) :
Well, there are more efficient ways of making money than begging for a homeless person, but SOME of them are just too lazy… (I understand that being homeless is somewhat out of their control, but they could at least try to get a job)
P.S.
@ Rod: Who’s poking fun? They made those signs themselves didn’t they?

Ok in my opinion homeless people choose to be homeless. They could have had nice jobs but they decided to heck with it, and they became alcoholics, druggies, and other things that mattered more to them then a roof over their head. Anyone can work at mcdonalds full time and at least rent a very small apartment (well at least where I live they can, and there are plenty of homeless here). I think they should get off their butts and work for their money like the rest of us. They dont deserve my penny when they put themselves in that situation in the first place. I dont feel sorry for them at all. Pity on them.
did you know homeless on medicaid get free counseling?!?!?!? Paid for by our Gov’t, GodBlessAmerica and our taxes. thier meds and meals are free by the govt and our tax dollars are going tward getting prozac to these Skells (police lingo for homeless) It did make me laugh but im not impressd.
C’mon now… Homeless people CHOOSE to be homeless?.. I’ll admit that in some cases this may be true, but once there and they realise how crappy a position they’re in, and how hard it is to make even a few bucks sitting in the street it becomes harder and harder to get a job. If you were the boss at a McD’s and you saw a dirty smelly bum in the street with a funny sign, you’re telling me you’d hire him?… I doubt anyone’s sincere ‘yes’ answer on this one, because they’re as disgusted by the idea as most of the posters on this one. I for one pass a buck to the honest ones who admit it’s for liquor, and hope they can come away from the streets with as much pride as the ones in the pics are demonstrating right here.
Thats was really funny. Even the fake ones. My buddy hey can stop laughing here. When you live in the city you’ll see crazy thing like ” Homeless Jedi” lol

While there are many homeless persons that have fallen on hard times and really do have a desire to get back on their own two feet, a large number have mental disabilities that makes it very difficult to maintain a stable job. I’ve done many hours volunteering in soup kitchens and so many of the people that I’ve served really want to work - it’s just the matter of finding a job, especially in this miserable recession.
Just don’t judge so quickly. You can never know what another’s situation is.
