I know this is NOT New York; but why can’t New York do this?

I don’t know where this is, but I can see on some of the pictures something in Russian.

Very cool. Good art can uplift. On sterile subways and stations, this is such a breath of fresh air. I wish they would copy this idea in my area.

This is awesome. What a cool way to enjoy a commute…..

I can imagine a project like this would be really successful in a city like New York…Mr. Bloomberg, can you hear me?

Unfortunately it could not be done in a large city like New York because of the behavior of a minute portion of the population.
Cages are provided at the zoo to protect the inhabitants from the onlookers. Such would be the case in our country at this time and stage of our current mentality. How long do you think it would take before graffiti would appear on the artwork? Then there is the fact that it would be touched, stolen and maimed beyond recognition. In Russia they have some stations with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings, frescoes painted right into the walls and classical music piped into the stations for people.(Not so much since the breakup of the Soviet Union)-Can you imagine that now? Nice thought though-
